Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to your game while you play the solitaire board on this site, and what this site collects (or doesn't collect) about your visit. Short version: the entire game runs in your browser, nothing about the cards you play is sent to a server, and there is no account, login or tracking cookie on this site.
What happens while you play
Every card move, the current deal, your win/loss count and your best completion time are handled entirely inside your browser, using JavaScript. Nothing about which cards you have, which moves you make, or how a game ends is sent to a server, logged, or stored in any database on this site. There is no backend on this site capable of receiving that information, even if someone wanted it to.
This is a direct consequence of how the site is built: it is a static site with no game server. The board you see and the cards you move exist only in your browser's memory for the duration of that game.
What is saved on your device (localStorage)
The only things this site saves are stored in your browser's localStorage, on your own device: your light/dark theme preference, your draw mode (1 or 3 cards), your table and card-back customization, your best completion time, and your games played / games won count (used on the solitaire tips page to track whether your results are improving). None of this identifies you personally, none of it is sent to any server, and it only exists so the page can remember your preferences and progress on your next visit. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
The "share this deal" link
The Settings panel includes a Share this deal button. It builds a link containing the shuffle seed for your current deal, entirely computed in your browser, so that opening the link deals the identical sequence of cards. That link does not contain any personal information, only a number identifying the shuffle. Sharing it is optional and entirely up to you.
The feedback button
Below the board there is an optional thumbs-up / thumbs-down feedback button. Clicking it sends an anonymous signal (just the vote, no information that identifies you, no stored IP address, no tracking cookie) to this site's backend, purely so the count can be tallied. A local marker in your browser prevents you from being asked to vote again repeatedly, but that marker does not identify you personally, it only stops a second vote from the same browser.
Visit metrics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit each page and roughly where they came from (for example, a Google search versus a direct link). This tool was chosen specifically because it does not use cookies and does not build an individual profile of each visitor: metrics are collected in aggregate at Cloudflare's network edge, without this site needing to load a traditional tracking script in your browser. It is not possible to identify a specific visitor from these metrics.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party profiling cookies. The only local storage used is the localStorage mentioned above, for theme, game settings and progress, which is technically not a cookie and is not automatically sent to any server with every request, unlike a traditional cookie.
Hosting and infrastructure
This site is hosted on Cloudflare's network, which processes the technical requests needed to deliver the page to your browser (source IP address, browser type, request time), the same way any hosting provider does. That technical infrastructure data falls under Cloudflare's own privacy policy as the network operator, and is not accessed, exported or combined by this site to identify visitors individually. No hosting information is used for any purpose beyond delivering the pages and assets (CSS, JavaScript, card images) that make up the game.
What this site does not do
To be explicit rather than vague: there is no user account system, no login, no email newsletter signup, no advertising network, no remarketing pixel, and no sale or sharing of visitor data with data brokers. Playing free Klondike solitaire is the entire functionality of this site, and it does not require, request, or benefit from collecting personal information, so none is collected.
Changes to this policy
If the way this site collects or handles data changes in the future (for example, if a new feature required saving something on a server), this page will be updated to reflect that change before it takes effect. There is no fixed review schedule, but the commitment is to keep this text matching what the game actually does, not a generic description copied from elsewhere.
